Educational Legislative Alerts
Part of the mission of the Partnership for Commonsense Justice is to inform Kentuckians about potential tort and judicial reform legislation. You can find alerts for hearings on certain bills that PCJ supports below.
On Deck: Senate Bill 202 - Circuit Court Venue Reform
Current law requires that all civil actions involving the Commonwealth of Kentucky be assigned to the Franklin Circuit Court. This requirement means higher costs to Kentucky’s businesses and a heavy docket in Franklin Circuit Court. Legislation could be introduced to amend current statute to allow litigation involving the Commonwealth to be heard in Circuit Courts throughout the state, rather than exclusively in Frankfort.
